What is OOPS!?
If you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction such as recurring debits, bill payments and checks, SONEPCO’s Occasional Overdraft Privilege Service (OOPS!), allows the Credit Union to make the payment on your behalf. This service can save you the embarrassment and high fees that can come with a bounced transaction, including merchant fees for a returned transaction.

After August 15, 2010, SONEPCO will not authorize the following types of transactions unless you ask us to (complete attached form):

• ATM transactions
• Everyday debit card transactions

However, we may still pay your overdrafts for other types of transactions, including checks, ACH and bill payments.

OOPS! is a benefit currently offered to all members, which allows SONEPCO to make payments on your behalf in the event of an accidental overdraft on your account. However, starting on August 1, 2010, your Credit Union will not be allowed to pay overdrafts on ATM or debit card transactions without your written consent.

What fees are associated with OOPS!?
SONEPCO’s OOPS! Service is free from charges and fees unless it is used. Upon use:

• You will be charged a fee of $25* each time an overdraft is paid on your behalf.
• There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account, however, the overdraft limit is established at a $800* maximum on personal accounts or $1,500* on business accounts.
